Overview

The Adobe Acrobat Sign integration connects your organization's Adobe Acrobat Sign account to License Logic, automatically importing your completed vendor agreements as contract records. When a vendor agreement finishes signing in Adobe Acrobat Sign, License Logic pulls the fully executed PDF, reads its terms, and creates a contract for you — so your signed agreements show up in License Logic without anyone having to upload them by hand.

This integration is read-only and inbound. License Logic only reads completed agreements out of Adobe Acrobat Sign to create contracts. It never sends agreements, never requests signatures, never composes or edits documents, and never changes anything inside your Adobe Acrobat Sign account. Nothing you do in License Logic is ever pushed back to Adobe.

Key Benefits

  • Automatic contract capture — Completed vendor agreements become License Logic contracts on their own, with no manual upload step
  • Signed PDF on file — The fully executed, combined signed document is stored alongside each contract for easy reference
  • Automatic term extraction — License Logic reads each signed agreement to pull out vendor, dates, costs, and other key terms
  • One source of truth — Agreements signed in Adobe Acrobat Sign land in the same place as your other contracts, vendors, and renewals
  • Renewal visibility — Once a signed agreement becomes a contract, it feeds your renewal calendar and reminders just like any other contract

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have both a License Logic account and an Adobe Acrobat Sign account with the correct permissions.

License Logic Requirements

  • Account: Active License Logic subscription
  • Role: Admin or Manager role (viewers cannot manage integrations)
  • Page: Access to Integrations from the left sidebar

Adobe Acrobat Sign Requirements

  • Account: An Adobe Acrobat Sign account on a plan that includes API access (Enterprise or Developer tier)
  • Role: Account Administrator in your Adobe Acrobat Sign account
  • Data center: Know your Adobe Acrobat Sign region (data center). Adobe hosts accounts on regional shards such as North America, Europe, Japan, Australia, and others. With the one-click connect method this is detected automatically; with the Integration Key method you'll enter it as your API access point (for example, https://api.na3.adobesign.com/).
Note on what gets imported: License Logic imports completed vendor agreements — agreements that have finished signing and involve an external (vendor) party. For the most reliable detection, route vendor agreements through a dedicated Adobe Acrobat Sign workflow or group. Internal-only documents are not intended to be captured as contracts.

Setup Guide

Connecting Adobe Acrobat Sign to License Logic takes about 2 minutes. There are two connection methods available — choose whichever your organization prefers. Both methods are read-only.

Method 1: One-Click Connect (OAuth)

With one-click connect, your Adobe Acrobat Sign account administrator authorizes License Logic directly through Adobe's secure consent screen using OAuth 2.0. You never copy or paste a key — Adobe handles the authorization, and your region is detected automatically.

Step 1: Start the connection in License Logic

  1. In License Logic, click Integrations from the left sidebar
  2. Find the Adobe Acrobat Sign card and click Connect with Adobe Sign

Step 2: Authorize on Adobe's consent screen

  1. You'll be redirected to Adobe's secure sign-in and consent page
  2. Sign in with your Adobe Acrobat Sign account administrator credentials
  3. Review the read-only access License Logic is requesting and click Allow to authorize
  4. Adobe sends you back to License Logic automatically

License Logic detects your account's region, stores the authorization securely, and begins importing completed vendor agreements. The Adobe Acrobat Sign card will show Connected within a few seconds.

Method 2: Integration Key

If your organization prefers to manage credentials yourself, your Adobe Acrobat Sign account administrator can generate an Integration Key (available on Enterprise and Developer-tier accounts) and paste it into License Logic. This is the right choice if your security team wants the key created and held inside your own Adobe account.

Step 1: Create an Integration Key in Adobe Acrobat Sign

  1. Sign in to Adobe Acrobat Sign as an Account Administrator
  2. Go to Account → Adobe Sign API → Integration Key
  3. Create a new Integration Key (for example, name it "License Logic")
  4. Grant it the read-only scopes agreement_read and user_read
  5. Save and copy the Integration Key value
  6. Note your account's API access point (your regional host, e.g. https://api.na3.adobesign.com/) — you can find this in your Adobe Acrobat Sign API documentation or account settings

Step 2: Connect in License Logic

  1. In License Logic, click Integrations from the left sidebar
  2. Find the Adobe Acrobat Sign card and click Connect
  3. Choose the Integration Key method
  4. Paste your Integration Key from Step 1
  5. Enter your API access point (regional host)
  6. Click Connect

License Logic will verify the key against your region and begin importing completed vendor agreements immediately.

Which method should I choose? One-click connect is the simplest — your administrator authorizes through Adobe's consent screen and your region is detected for you. The Integration Key method gives your team full control over the credential, which is created and managed inside your own Adobe Acrobat Sign account. Both methods provide the same read-only access to the same data.

What Data Is Synced

License Logic imports the following from your Adobe Acrobat Sign account for each completed vendor agreement:

Agreement Details

  • Agreement name — The title of the signed agreement
  • Completion date — When the agreement finished signing
  • Vendor — Derived from the external (vendor) party who signed the agreement
  • Status — Only completed (fully executed) agreements are imported

Signers

  • Participant emails — The people who signed the agreement, used to identify the external vendor party

Signed Document

  • Combined signed PDF — The fully executed document, downloaded and stored with the resulting contract so the original is always on file

Once a signed PDF is imported, License Logic reads it to extract the contract's key terms — vendor, dates, costs, and more — exactly as it would for a contract you uploaded yourself.

Data access is read-only. License Logic does not create, send, sign, modify, or delete any agreement, template, workflow, or any other data in your Adobe Acrobat Sign account. We only read completed agreements and their signed documents.

Viewing Your Adobe Sign Data

Imported agreements appear in License Logic as ordinary contracts — there's nothing separate to learn.

Contracts / Documents

Each completed vendor agreement becomes a contract in your Documents (Contracts) area. For every imported agreement you'll see:

  • Vendor name — Derived from the external signer on the agreement
  • Contract details — Dates, costs, and other terms extracted from the signed PDF
  • The signed document — The combined signed PDF is attached and viewable on the contract
  • Renewal information — Once dates are extracted, the contract feeds your renewals and reminders like any other

Open any imported contract to view its full details and the signed agreement exactly as you would for a manually uploaded contract.

Suppliers and Renewals

Because imported agreements are real contracts, they roll up automatically into your Suppliers view and your Renewals calendar — giving you a complete picture of vendor spend and upcoming renewals alongside the rest of your contracts.

Sync Schedule & Refresh

Automatic Hourly Sync

License Logic checks your Adobe Acrobat Sign account for newly completed vendor agreements once per hour. Each check lists the agreements that have completed since the last sync, fetches their details and signers, downloads the combined signed PDF, and creates a contract record. New signed agreements typically appear in License Logic within an hour of completion.

Initial Sync

When you first connect, License Logic performs an initial import of recently completed vendor agreements. Depending on how many agreements you have, this typically completes within a few minutes.

What Triggers a Sync

  • Initial connection — Shortly after you connect
  • Hourly scheduled sync — Runs automatically every hour
  • Reconnection — If you disconnect and reconnect, a fresh import runs again

Tip: You can see when the most recent sync occurred on the Adobe Acrobat Sign integration card under Integrations. The "Synced" date updates after each successful sync.

Note: The integration uses scheduled checks (polling), not live notifications. There is no webhook to configure — once you connect, License Logic handles the rest on its hourly schedule.

Disconnecting Adobe Acrobat Sign

You can disconnect Adobe Acrobat Sign at any time. Disconnecting stops all future imports and removes the connection from License Logic.

To disconnect:

  1. Go to Integrations from the left sidebar
  2. Find the Adobe Acrobat Sign integration card (showing "Connected")
  3. Click the menu icon (…) on the card
  4. Select Disconnect
  5. Confirm the disconnection in the dialog

After disconnecting:

  • License Logic stops checking your Adobe Acrobat Sign account, and no new agreements will be imported
  • Your stored Adobe Acrobat Sign authorization (one-click connect token or Integration Key) is removed from our systems
  • Contracts that were already created from imported agreements remain in License Logic — they are your contract records, not a live mirror of Adobe
  • Other integrations (Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Ramp, desktop agent) are not affected
  • You can reconnect at any time by clicking "Connect" again
Note: Disconnecting only removes the connection and stops future imports. It does not delete the contracts that have already been created — those stay in your account. If you want to remove an individual contract, archive it from the contract itself.

Security & Data Handling

Authentication

License Logic supports two read-only authentication methods for Adobe Acrobat Sign:

  • One-click connect (OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code Grant) — Your administrator authorizes License Logic through Adobe's secure consent screen. License Logic never sees your Adobe username or password.
  • Integration Key — Your account administrator generates a scoped, read-only key inside your own Adobe Acrobat Sign account and provides it to License Logic.

Both methods provide read-only access. License Logic cannot send, sign, modify, or delete anything in your Adobe Acrobat Sign account.

Data in Transit

All communication between License Logic and Adobe Acrobat Sign's API uses TLS encryption. Data is never transmitted in plaintext.

Data at Rest

  • Authorization tokens and Integration Keys — Encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM
  • Signed PDFs — Stored in access-controlled cloud storage, encrypted at rest
  • Contract data — Stored in our encrypted database

Access Control

  • Only Admin and Manager users can connect or disconnect the Adobe Acrobat Sign integration
  • Viewer users can see imported contracts but cannot modify integration settings
  • Access to signed documents is scoped to your organization only

Permissions Requested

License Logic requests only the following read-only scopes from your Adobe Acrobat Sign account:

  • agreement_read — Read completed agreements and download their signed documents
  • user_read — Read basic account information needed to connect

No write access. License Logic cannot create, send, sign, modify, or delete agreements, templates, workflows, or any other data in your Adobe Acrobat Sign account. Every scope is read-only — this is the core of how the integration is designed.

Secure Engineering

The integration is built to OWASP Top 10 secure-coding guidelines.

Data Retention

Your stored Adobe Acrobat Sign credentials are retained only while the integration is connected and are removed when you disconnect. Contracts and signed PDFs created from imported agreements are retained as part of your License Logic account, the same as any other contract, and are not deleted automatically when you disconnect.

Troubleshooting

"Invalid Integration Key" error when connecting

This means the key you entered could not be verified against your Adobe Acrobat Sign account. Common causes:

  • The key was copied incorrectly (missing characters at the start or end)
  • The key was not granted the agreement_read and user_read scopes
  • The API access point (region) doesn't match the account where the key was created

Generate a new Integration Key in Account → Adobe Sign API → Integration Key, confirm the scopes, and try again.

"Wrong region" or "invalid API access point" error

Adobe Acrobat Sign accounts live in regional data centers, and API calls must use your account's correct host. If you connected with the Integration Key method and see a region error, double-check your API access point (for example, https://api.na3.adobesign.com/) and reconnect with the correct host. With one-click connect, the region is detected automatically, so reconnecting usually resolves it.

Authorization failed during one-click connect

This means the consent step did not complete. Verify:

  • You signed in as an Account Administrator in Adobe Acrobat Sign
  • You clicked Allow on Adobe's consent screen rather than cancelling
  • Your account is on a plan that includes API access (Enterprise or Developer tier)

Return to Integrations and click Connect with Adobe Sign to try again.

Connected, but no contracts appear

  • The initial import may still be in progress. Wait a few minutes and refresh the page.
  • Only completed vendor agreements are imported — agreements still out for signature won't appear until they finish.
  • Only agreements involving an external (vendor) party are imported. Internal-only documents are not captured as contracts.
  • Check the Synced timestamp on the integration card. If it shows a recent time, the most recent sync completed successfully.
  • Look in your Documents (Contracts) area to find imported agreements.

An expected agreement was not imported

Because Adobe Acrobat Sign does not tag agreements with a built-in "vendor contract" type, License Logic identifies vendor agreements by the external party who signed and by the workflow or group used to send them. If an agreement was missed:

  • Confirm the agreement is completed (fully signed), not still in progress
  • Confirm an external (vendor) party signed it
  • For the most reliable detection, route vendor agreements through a dedicated Adobe Acrobat Sign workflow or group

Connect button is disabled or the Adobe Acrobat Sign card is missing

The integration may not yet be enabled for your organization, or a connection method may be temporarily unavailable. Contact support@licenselogic.co to request access.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does License Logic send or sign anything in my Adobe Acrobat Sign account?

No. The integration is strictly read-only and inbound. License Logic only reads completed agreements to create contracts. It never sends agreements, requests signatures, composes documents, or modifies anything in Adobe Acrobat Sign.

What exactly gets imported?

Completed vendor agreements — agreements that have finished signing and involve an external (vendor) party. For each one, License Logic imports the agreement details, the signers, and the combined signed PDF, then creates a contract record.

How often does data sync?

License Logic checks for newly completed agreements once per hour. An initial import also runs shortly after you first connect.

Which connection method should I use?

One-click connect is the fastest — your administrator authorizes through Adobe's consent screen and your region is detected automatically. The Integration Key method lets your team create and hold the credential inside your own Adobe Acrobat Sign account. Both are read-only and import the same data.

Do I need a special Adobe Acrobat Sign plan?

You need a plan that includes API access (Enterprise or Developer tier) and an Account Administrator to authorize the connection.

What permissions does License Logic have in Adobe Acrobat Sign?

Only two read-only scopes: agreement_read (to read completed agreements and download their signed PDFs) and user_read (to read basic account information needed to connect). License Logic has no ability to write, send, or change anything.

Why was one of my agreements not picked up?

Adobe Acrobat Sign doesn't tag agreements as "vendor contracts," so License Logic identifies them by the external signer and the workflow or group used. Make sure the agreement is completed and involves an external party. Routing vendor agreements through a dedicated workflow or group makes detection more reliable.

What happens to my contracts if I disconnect?

Contracts and signed PDFs already created from imported agreements stay in License Logic — they're your records. Disconnecting only stops future imports and removes your stored Adobe Acrobat Sign credentials. You can reconnect at any time to resume importing.

Is my Adobe Acrobat Sign admin password shared with License Logic?

No. With one-click connect, you authorize through Adobe's consent screen and License Logic never sees your password. With the Integration Key method, you create the key inside your own Adobe account. In neither case does License Logic have your Adobe login credentials.

Do I need to keep my browser open for syncing to work?

No. Syncing happens on License Logic's servers in the background. Once you connect, importing is fully automated.

Can I revoke License Logic's access from Adobe's side?

Yes. If you connected via one-click connect, you can revoke the authorization from your Adobe Acrobat Sign account settings. If you connected via an Integration Key, disable or delete that key in Account → Adobe Sign API → Integration Key. Either action stops all importing. You should also disconnect from the License Logic side to remove the stored credential.
